The basic STS-10/20™ Food Pasteurization System uses a modular 10 MeV integrated-shield Electron Beam subsystem as its irradiation power source. Each STS-10/20™ is custom designed specifically for your application and configured for direct installation in a food packaging or processing line, or a separate off-site facility. Food products such as Fruits, Vegetables, Meats, Poultry, Seafood, Dairy Products and Spices can be processed by the STS-10/20™ at high volume rates. This safe and efficient pasteurization process helps the treated food product maintain its taste, texture and nutritional content plus prolongs the shelf life while killing pathogens and pests. There are no chemicals or other residual materials deposited on or in the food.

The irradiation of food products has been in existence for more than 70 years. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and their counterparts in more than 45 countries have approved over 100 food products for irradiation pasteurization.
